Music | Songs to Learn

Elenor Rigby

This is a truly beautiful song exhibiting both simplicity & complexity in its final form. See the links at the bottom of the page to see how complex it can get. I am now trying to play this song on the guitar, and possibly on the harmonica as well. I will follow this process:
  1. Learn the Lyrics of the Song First
  2. Learn to Sing the Song with the correct intonation & rhythm
  3. Learn the Chords required, practicing any complex changes
  4. Play the whole song on the guitar along with the orginal
  5. Play and sing together
  6. Finally make it my own
  • Chords: C C/E Em Em7 Em6
  •
Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice
Eleanor Rigby, In the church where a wedding has been
    Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face
That she keeps in a jar by the door
    Who is it for

    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?

    Father McKenzie, writing the words
Of a sermon that no one will hear
    No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks
In the night when there's nobody there
    What does he care

    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?

Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby, died in the church
And was buried along with her name
    Nobody came
    Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt
From his hands as he walks from the grave
    No one was saved

    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?

    Spanish - Translation

    Ah, toda esa gente sola.
