Quantum Reality
by Nick Herbert

About the book
Quantum Reality: Beyond the New Physics by Nick Herbert (1985) is a clear popular account of the interpretation problem in quantum mechanics. Herbert lays out the experimental facts and then surveys the rival “realities”, Copenhagen, many-worlds, hidden variables and more, that physicists have proposed to explain what the equations actually mean. It is especially good on Bell’s theorem and quantum entanglement, and remains a well-regarded introduction to why quantum mechanics is so philosophically strange.
