Why Information Grows by Cesar Hidalgo
About the book
Why Information Grows: The Evolution of Order, from Atoms to Economies by Cesar Hidalgo (2015) argues that economic growth is best understood as the growth of information, physical order embodied in products and in the networks of people who know how to make them. Hidalgo, a physicist and complexity researcher, links thermodynamics, information theory and economics to explain why some regions prosper: they accumulate “knowhow” distributed across many minds. It connects to my notes on knowledge representation and networks.
