or how not to get stuck on a hill when there is a mountain next to it.

Vikid hadn’t reviewed many business books in his career. One of the reasons being that he had stopped reading them…
Let’s be honest, we all kind of know what they are going to say. Like books on health and fitness, they all say the same things wrapped in different covers. Eat fresh, real foods, limit carbs, respect nutrient density, exercise for endorphins, avoid injuries, maintain perfect form, rest, etc…
There are books that target the spiritually minded, others for young men, still more for the vegans, vegetarians, paleo buffs, and countless more…
But that’s also life, it has this sense of repetition, a rhythm, night to day, day to night, eat, sleep (and screw if you’re lucky), then repeat.
Sometimes repetition is good. Sometimes we need to be reminded of why we are doing, what we are doing. Sometimes, we need to step back and reevaluate.
So, this is how I decided to read this book. It is peppered with diagrams and stories that help guide your thinking. For example, the famous story of Fosbury Flop, the unorthodox technique that help Dick Fosbury win Gold at the 1968 Olympics.

How did he win?
He didn’t do it by optimizing on a known solution. He did it by inventing an entirely new one and by doing that, he had to first go into a valley. Then only could he ascend past his competition.
And so the book continues with various pointers and reminders about we can find ourselves stuck in some local maximum, where we have put our selves in a bind by climbing the wrong hill by missing the mountain next to it.
So this is really a book about getting oriented and not painting yourself into a corner and what to do about it if you have. (Often you will have to go into a valley).
There are lessons inside from diverse sources from the military to startup AI companies.
In reality what the book promotes is a an approach that works anywhere from learning to play musical instruments, to running a church to starting or improving businesses.
It’s a light ready, full of diagrams and pictures for those of you who are challenged at reading ;-).
And that’s,
The Vikid Truth
