Lockdowns & Elections

Blissful in Blindness

· 3 min read · Originally on Substack

It’s been over a month since I’ve written. I avoided all news quite literally and didn’t follow the US election, as the results were utterly predictable:

Not many people are laughing anymore.

It may sound defeatist but I actually spend a considerable amount of time with the highly educated and commercially successful. I have found them to be equally ignorant as the “lesser” population. (Lesser in their eyes)

The only difference is that they more sure of themselves. You see, when you think that you are smarter than average (with a certificate to prove it) and have a good job (with a house & bank balance to show for it), you tend to believe in your own BS with much greater voracity.

So I’ve given up, trying to convince anyone of anything, one might as well speak to a brick wall. No, sorry, speaking to a brick wall is more beneficial! At least you won’t lose friends if you speak to the wall and will learn something about yourself.

I’ve given up trying to convince myself of anything while I am at it. It took me a while (a good 40 years) to realize that I was really just as dumb (actually dumber) as anyone else. That I too had an ego the size of Jupiter and that I spent my entire youth batting for the forces of the Idiocracy. So I have really no complaint against others. It’s just how the world works.

It required copious levels of destruction of my financial wealth and mental health to see through the problem and that is why I thank the universe for all the knocks it has given me. Without them, I would be blissfully blind. Not to say that I am not still blind but experience is a wonderful teacher. Now, I am Blissful in Blindness.

So while we all look the other way, the world will go into another lockdown.

This interview is excellent. It’s just over an hour long so I suspect most of the know-it-alls wont watch it! You know that Netflix is better!

I am just leaving it here on the off chance that you dear reader might give it a shot.

Enjoy the weeks ahead for the rest of the year (12 months) will be a rollercoaster.

And That’s,
