The Juicy Place

Walking the Path and Getting Knocked for a Six

· 1 min read · Originally on Substack

“Just sitting with discomfort, without trying to escape or numb it in anyway, without exception, without a goal in mind, without seeking anything, including some abstract notion of “comfort” —that’s the juicy place, the place of creative transformation, the place where newness shines” — Jeff Foster, The Way of Rest

Advice that is so simple and yet so hard to follow. It seems to get at the core of everything.

It’s a direct affront to restlessness, to everything we are on a daily basis.

To confront discomfort by embodying it.

A few of years ago Jeff was hit with a rare and debilitating disease. It knocked him for a six and he had to eat his own words.

You can read about it here:

  1. “I WASN’T PREPARED FOR THIS”

  2. “I WRITE BOOKS ABOUT ACCEPTANCE… BUT I JUST CANNOT ACCEPT THIS”

The message is simple and it’s a joy to read.

Walking this path?

That’s another thing.

Blessings…

And that’s,
